News is all about current events but today's news story is tomorrows historic document. This is true of the sinking of the Titanic, the FLQ crisis and almost any other historic event we can think of. The interesting aspect of a news story is that it is often times reported from a bias view, or with incomplete knowledge of many of the facts or in some cases with a subjective slant chosen as the thrust of the story. When reviewing these documents it is almost more important to determine the writers opinions and position and what are the objectives they are trying to achieve with the writing of the document.
